Masterclass on Impact Journalism by The Better India

About the facilitator:

Tanaya Singh is the Chief Editor - English at The Better India, Asia’s largest impact-driven, positive news platform. Leading a team of journalists, Tanaya has authored and overseen the publishing of numerous stories of changemakers, innovators and unsung heroes. Her work defines 'solutions driven journalism' for the most critical impact sectors in India; agriculture, education, health, sustainability and women empowerment.

Her reportage and editorials use the power of content to create large-scale impact within communities. She has helped execute national-level awareness campaigns with partners such as Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Dell, CIFF, and recently, India's largest rewards & recognition program for COVID heroes. In her role at The Better India, she also have had the privilege of leading numerous impact campaigns with individuals and organisations from across India, resulting in change ranging from reviving lakes and ponds to helping children continue with their education.

Prior to TBI, she was the Executive Editor at Youth Ki Awaaz, a media platform for young citizens to write on issues that matter. Here, I learnt all about taking responsibility and ownership and the importance of asking the right questions.

With 10 years of experience in the field of looking for stories in people & people in stories, she continues to be amazed by the power of individuals and their actions.
