1976: Apple I computer created by Steve Wozniak was released

Apple Computer I later known as the Apple I or Apple-1 is a desktop computer released by Apple company

It was Apple's first product and was designed and hand-built by Steve Wozniak

The memory was standard 4 KB and expandable up to 8 or 48 KB using expansion card.

On April 11th, 1976, Apple's first product was designed and released by Steve Wozniak. Initially known as Apple Computer I, later it was known as Apple I or Apple-1. The graphics were of 40*24 character with hardware implementing scrolling. The memory of the computer was standard 4 KB and expandable up to 8 KB or 48 KB using expansion card.

1970 Apollo 13 launched to the moon

The third lunar landing mission was launched from Florida.

Astronauts James A. Lovell, John L. Swigert, and Fred W. Haise were to explore the Imbrium Basin and conduct geological experiments

However, after an oxygen tank exploded on the evening of April 13, a new mission was launched to get the crew back .

Apollo 13, the third lunar landing mission was successfully launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, carrying astronauts James A. Lovell, John L. Swigert, and Fred W. Haise. They were to explore the Imbrium Basin and conduct geological experiments. However, after an oxygen tank exploded on the evening of April 13, the new mission was launched to get the crew back. The crew returned safely to earth on April 17, 1970, six days after launch. The story of the Apollo 13 mission has been dramatized multiple times, most notably in the 1995 film, Apollo 13.

1983: An Indian wins an Oscar

Bhanu Athaiya won an Oscar for Costume Design for Gandhi.

Richard Attenborough's Gandhi led the party with eleven nominations and eight wins.

Ben Kingsley won the Best Actor, while Meryl Streep won the Best Actress award.

The 55th Academy Awards were presented at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Los Angeles. The ceremonies were presided over by Liza Minnelli, Dudley Moore, Richard Pryor, and Walter Matthau. Louis Gossett Jr. became the first African-American actor to win Best Supporting Actor for his performance as the tough and principled drill sergeant Emil Foley in An Officer and a Gentleman. It was broadcast on ABC Network and lasted a total of 3 hours and 15 minutes.
